Investigating Letters and Words

We have been investigating the letters s,a,t and i.  We have discovered that letters are all around us.  One student noticed that 'English letters are in French words' so we have been talking about how the letters are the same but their letter name and sound may be different.  We are investigating the letter name, sound of the letter, and words that start with that letter.  Today we were using letter cards as flashcards and to build words.
